The history of the label All Platinum and the activity of Joey and Sylvia ROBINSON, begins at the end of 1967s at ENGLEWOOD, in New Jersey. At first tnamed PLATINIUM, the label becomes fast All Platinum to avoid any source of confusion with another label of Miami wearing the same name. It is now known that the idea to have added the "ALL" prfix also holds the fact that Joey ROBINSON was for the fact of rules applied to the redistribution of royalities; the distribution indeed beginning leaves the letter "A", there was certainty to collect the royalities very fast.

Thus based in New Jersey, this label will see crossing in its studios many soul artists and funk having recorded under " New Jersey Sound " with Sylvia, or RAY,
GOODMAN and BROW as producers. It is also on this label, that SYLVIA will try to relaunch the career of certain artists of the years 50/60, as Lezli VALENTINE, Donnie ELBERT, Dave CORTEZ, Chuck JACKSON... Contrary to STANG and VIBRATION, All Platinum is not going to register big success in charts, the best classified title, dating 1971, is has to credit to Donnie ELBERT with "Where Did Our Love Go". From 1976, as for all the labels distributed by All Platinum, the productions become more funk, to see disco, so translating the end of period. In August '75, by means of the EUROPEAN distributor " PHILLIPS / PHONOGRAM ", the ROBINSONS acquires the CHESS catalog, becoming so for time the biggest independent label " BLACK ". The end 1979 All Platinum is going to change in its new RAP musical direction (SUGARHILL ), and in 1982 SUGARHILL Buy All Platinum (With CHASS catalog), all of this will be bring by MCA, and so it is another history!
