BIMBO JET, constitue un lien improbable entre le disco et le Cha Cha Cubano-espagnol. C'est le résultat de l'imagination de Claude MORGAN, un jeune producteur dans les années 1970. Comme pour tout le monde, il fît le tour des maison de disque pour placer sa maquette, et il rencontre Laurent ROSSI. Oui, le fils de Tino. Ce dernier voit immédiatement le potentiel commercial de cette chanson,et il l'enregistre dans la foulée. Quelles heures plus tard, "El Bimbo" est dans la boîte. Sorti au début de l'été 1974, le titre est tellement difFCfusé qu'il est impossible de ne pas l'entendre. Plus de 1,3 million de 45t vendu rien qu'en france. Mais ce succès dépasse les frontières en Europe, et même au États-unis et en Angleterre il grimpe dans les classements. Le titre doit son succès à sa spécificité : la danse, un concept qui sera repris bien plus tard pour la Lambada, et aussi au terme "El Bimbo" signifiant "la pute". Cette chanson a ouvert la voix à d'autres succès latino pour les CHOCOLATE's et TWO MAN SOUND.

: En 1979, le journal Anglais "The Sun" les re-baptise "Les
BEATLES
Noirs".
Le trio débute sous le pseudo de PHALANSTÈRE", incluant en
fait un 4ème membre, un blanc: Jean-Jacques GOLDMAN. Surtout
influencé par le rock et le bues, ils remportent en 1970 un
concours qui leur permet d'enregistrer une maquette...mais
c'est l'échec. En activité sous divers noms, il faut
attendre 1975, pour que un homme de télé, Guy LUX, les
embauche comme musiciens pour son émission de télévision.
Sous le pseudo de MARTINIQUE-EXPRESS, ils assurent donc
l'ambiance des plusieurs émissions de variété. Gonflé par
cette expérience, ils présentent un nouveau projet à Daniel
VANGUARDE. Ce dernier s'arrête sur un titre "Come To
America", un titre à ambiance salsa, latino-disco. On les
nomme désormais les GIBSON BROTHERS, en référence aux
légendaire guitares), et le titre marche bien en france,
belgique et italie.
Le titre suivant, "Non-Stop Dance" fait de même, et vient alors "Cuba". La c'est le succès en Angleterre et aux U.S.A. (N° 64 au Bilboard's Hot Soul Single chart), # 81 au pop chart. L'album du même nom est déclaré album disco de la semaine le 7 juillet 1979. Les ventes suivent, et "Better Do It Salsa" est un énorme hit. Ceci dit, cela n'est rien comparé à "Que Sera Mi Vida" qui vend 45 000 exemplaire en un jour en Angleterre et grimpa à 6 millions. "Oh, What A Life" est numéro des clubs, les titres suivant font moins bien, "Latin America" et "Tic Tac", mais disque d'or tout de même.
BIMBO JET made an imprevisble link between disco and Cuban/spanish cha cha. This is the result od the immagination of Claude MORGAN, a young producer in the 70's. He traditionnal toured the french label in order to propose them his title, and he met Laurent ROSSI. Oooh, yes that name surely tell you someting....that's the son of TINO ROSSI. Laurent immediatly saw the commercial impact of this song and recorded it with studio musicans...an few hours later, "El bimbo" is in the box. Out in june 1974, at summer time, the title is performed so much it's impossible not to ear it. More then 1,3 million selling in France. But the success break out the frontiers in europe, and even in UK or the States, where it climbed into the Charts. The song popularity is dued to it's speciafical dance (a concept that re-appers later with the lambada for i.e), and to his slang word..."bimbo" (aka Bitch). That song openned the way to other people such as The CHOCOLATE's in 1975 or The TWO MAN SOUND "Quel tal tropical".....

1979 the "Black Beatles".The trio began as "PHALANSTÈRE"
group including a fourth member well known in France; White
man Jean Jacques GOLDMAN. Rock and blues influenced,
they won a song contest together in 1970 which gave them the
opportunity to record a project....but it failded...still in
activity under other names, a record producer propose them
in 1975 to play as background musicians for a TV Show
conduced by a french mentor Guy LUX (this man has more than
200 tv shows under his shoulder"). Named "MARTIQUE-EXPRESS"
they performed on several shows. It inspire them and the
present a project to Daniel VANGUARDE (man responsible for
74's "Aie" BLACKWOOD success), and daniel stop on a song
"Come to America", a song which is already
salsa-latino-disco feeling. That's it!Renamed GIBSON
BROTHERS (for they're love to the legandary GIBSON guitars),
the song sell well in France, Belgium, and Italy. (more a
million selling).
Following single do the same "Non-Stop Dance", and then come "Cuba". Now England is hot with it, and US too (number 64 on Bilboard's Hot Soul Single chart), # 81 on pop chart . The same named album , is declared disco album of the week on july 7 , 1979. Results follow, and "Better Do it Salsa" is an enomous hit. But it's none comparing to "Que Sera Mi Vida", a song that sell 45 000 a day in UK rushing 6 millions. "Oh, What a Life" is the number 1 top club. "Latin America" and "Tic Tac" are under the previous sets, but still gold.
