 - EMERGENCY Records  H i g h l i g h t s -

Founded in early '79's this label commercialized products which higlights the Italian disco sound of the late seventies and then 80's. At those time a lot of european production came from Germany then FRANCE, and at last it was ITALIA. Those releases were introducting more electric instruments such as computers, and a lot of synthetizers. With the opposion to a BIG Bass groove and a disco tempo, this late disco tunes where a must in gay parties.

Years 1981 & 1982 are the bests of the label with productions that mixed late disco emotions and heavy funky rhythm that made the EMERGENCY SOUND, with is very closer to Jimmy ROSS, AGO.
However, a lot of fans, discovered that label via KANO's titled, and especially "It's A War", which was a product that was different at that time from t he production mass.
In Europe, it's Firefly that made discover that label, because "Love...." was a huge underground hit in the clubs. That label also offered TEE SCOTT the opportunity to realise ones of it's best mixes with NORTHEND an d ELECTRA.

As many independant labels, year 83 saw the label looking for some hits with new now-called "Dance-Music" and early electro tracks such as C.O.D and of course SHANNON. The international success of "Let The Music Play" allowed EMERGENCY to continue their story untill 1988. But the majority of the production where now European Dance music and apart titles from such artists like AMII STEWART "Firends", and early garage titles by CAROLYN HARDING, the label falled into minor quality productions, even if P4F and TAFFY sold well.

The end was near, when EMERGENCY was forced to deal with PROFILE for the distribution in year 1987, and during those two late years, the magic disappeared.

In despite of this sad close, this label offers some vinyls that  serious collectors must have in it's discography.
