(1) - When first issued way back in march
1977, all the Carol Williams releases were seen as beeing a little "too
disco" for widespread UK acceptance. The early Salsoul releases were only
available on import and anything that didn't straight away was forgotten
very quickly. Names like Vince MONTANA, JR. (Carol Williams Producer), did
not come back into fashion until the new millenium. The Spiller's "Groovejet
(If It Ain't Love)" came out and everything changed!. Suddenly Montana's
early grooves were back in big demand and none more so than "Love Is
You"-the ryhthm sample that created "Groovejet". Available again in the full
original 12" mix for the first tile ever in the U.K, backed with another
slice of MONTANA magic "Come back" also available in it's full 12" glory! A

(1) - The multitude of tremendous Loleatta
Holloway Salsoul tracks would easily fill a double anthology (and, in fact,
will very shortly), but if there is one track which has found massive
resonance with today's club market, it's "Runaway". Only issued in Holland
on 12" originally, "Runaway" surprisingly only apperaed as a 7" import when
it first arrived from the U.S and was credited to the SALSOUL ORCHESTRA.
Since then the track has become perhaps Salsoul's biggest cult classic,
especially when it was covered by Nu Yorican Soul in 1997. Make no mistake,
Vince MONTANA Jnr's production and Loleatta 's top-notch vocals are simply
unbeatable on this gem witch is now available at long last as 12". As if it
wasn't enough, we've also included Loleatta's brilliant "That's What You
Said" in the Rick GIANATOS tour-de-force 12" mix, plus the acapella too.
Needless to say we cannot recommand this amazing double-sided slice of dance

Perhaps one of the most valuable Salsoul 12" originals you will ever be
lucky enough to find is "Heartbreaker" by the legendary Leroy Burgess-one of
THE cult dance producers of all time. So naturally we figure it was time
that we made this underground classic available to the wider market again.
So here is "Heratbreaker" in the wonderful original Shep Pettibone mix that
has had collectors salivating over it for years! And guess what? Buried away
from the vaults (among otehr gems) we found his only recently dicovered
previously unreleased gem, "Heavenly" which is now available on 12" for the
first time EVER!. As a double-sided piece of history, it seriously doesn't
get much better tha this. I wish someone had made these available when i

Comments: Continuing our tradition of only releasing brilliant double-sided classics in this series, it gives us great pleasure to re-introduce classic funk band Ripple to today's dance audiences with their bona-fide dance smash "The Beat Goes On & On". If ever a track should be samples (like Spiller did with Carol Williams' "LOve Is You") the this is it!. "The Beat Goes On & On" literally has it all with it's hypnotic rolling bass-line,swirling strings, sing-along chorus and insistent beat. Finally available on 12" again in the original Jim Burgess 12" mix, this is anotherpiece of irresistible Salsoul magic which will still fill a dance-floor anytime, anyplace, anywhere! Likewise Silvetti's magnificient "Spring Rain" which, although recorded in Spain, still manages to sound like the perfect Salsoul recording with it's trademark strings plus a brilliant piano riff which is also yelling out to be sampled by today's procuders. Finally availabel again in it's full original 12" glory "Spring Rain" is anotehr deadly addition to the armoury of certified Salsoul classics. Don't say we didn't warm you.
