SOUND OF NEY YORK-USA, ne doit pas être confondu avec un label, du même nom sur lequel ont été produits les tubes du groupe INDEEP! Il s'agit d'un des très nombreux label de la nébuleuse Patrick ADAMS & Peter BROWN. Distribué par P&P et Queen Constance, on y retrouve des réalisations disco/funk (underground) et les premiers titres RAP. Il faut également savoir que Michael CAMPBELL se cache aussi comme producteur, ingénieur du son, auteur, arrangeur de la majorité des productions de QUEEN CONSTANCE, même s'il n'est jamais crédité. La plupart du temps les productions de Patrick ADAMS étaient retravaillées par CAMPBELL, ce dernier s'autorisant à enlever et/ou à ajouter des instruments, qu'il jouait lui-même.Peter BROWN voyant en lui un "génie" le pris sous ses ailes.

Parralèllement et simultanément, Peter & Patricia BROWN gèrent QUEEN CONSTANCE records. Au début distribué par P&D records, QC sera ensuite distribué par S.O.N.Y. D'ailleurs alternativement certains disques afficheront Sound Of New York QUEEN CONSTANCE où SOUND OF NEW YORK - Queen Constance.
On doit dire, que Peter,Patrick & Michael se sont amusés et ingéniés à brouiller les pistes aussi bien sur le nom des labels que sur les références. Quelle peut-en être la raison ? Nul ne le sait.
Sur les matrices de QUEEN CONSTANCE, bien difficiles à "classifier", on peut cependant distinguer trois grandes périodes; la première comporte les toutes premières productions de Peter & Patricia BROWN distribuées par P&D (Matices L.P. x). Ensuite leurs productions deviennent "autonomes" et sont distribuées par Sound Of New York USA (matrices 40x+ & LP-40xx+) Enfin les productions associees avec Michael CAMPBELL ont quant à elle une numérotation spécifique (8x8x+). Toutes ont quasiment été réalisée en 1979!

It is also necessary to know that Michael CAMPBELL also hides as producer, sound engineer, author, arranger of the majority of the productions of QUEEN CONSTANCE, even if he is never credited. Most of the time Patric Adam's productions were worked again by CAMPBELL, this last one adducing or removing instruments, which he played himself. Peter BROWN seeing in him a "genius" used to take him under its wings.

Simultaneously, Peter and Patricia BROWN manage QUEEN CONSTANCE records . At the beginning distributed by P&D records, QC will then be distributed by S.O.N.Y. Moreover alternately certain discs will show Sound Of New York QUEEN CONSTANCE where SOUND OF NEW YORK - Queen Constance.
We have to say, that Peter, Patrick and Michael enjoyed themselves and strove to blur tracks as well on the name of the labels as on the references. What can be the reason there? Nobody knows it.
On the matrices of QUEEN CONSTANCE, very difficult "to classify", we can however distinguish three big periods; the first one contains the very first productions of Peter and Patricia BROWN distributed by P&D (Matices L.P. X). Then their productions become "autonomous" and are distributed by Sound Of New York USA (matrices 40x + and LP-40xx +) Finally the associees productions with Michael CAMPBELL have as for her a specific numbering (8x8x +). All were almost realized in 1979!

Label fondé & dirigé par Joey & Sylvia ROBINSON sous la coupe du groupe "All Platinum", et lancé en 1968 en même temps que All Platinum. Si TURBO, était plus particulièrement réservé aux productions de Linda JONES, Lonnie YOUNGBLOOD & du groupe BROTHER TO BROTHER, STANG, (dont le nom vient de "muSTANG", 'la voiture possédé par Joey ROBINSON en 1968), était lui réservé aux titres de deux artistes principaux; "THE MOMENTS", et les "WHATNAUTS". C'est aussi sur ce label, que SYLVIA tentera de relancer (une dernière fois) la carrière de HANK BALLARD, et ce, sans succès. Vers la fin de 1975, SYLVIA sent que la recette soul ne fonctionne plus, et, pour compenser les chutes de ventes des MOMENTS®, elle se tourne vers des productions plus disco/funk avec les RIMSHOTS®, en vain. La notoriété viendra plus de trente ans après!

C'est avec le titre "Love on A Two-Way, Street" en 1971 que STANG va enregistrer ces meilleures ventes (disque certifié 500,000)

A noter, que comme pour le label VIBRATION, les derniers disques présses font référence à "ASTROSCOPE Records, Inc", probablement pour une question de gestion des droits, et à cause de la fallite proche du groupe "All Platinum". Mais cet échec financier, permettra de renaître de plus belle avec le label SUGARHILL!

Dernière remarque commune à tous les labels du groupe "All Platinum"; concernant la gestion des droits d'auteurs, il est facile de distinguer ceux faisant partie du catlatogue du groupe, car ils se terminent par le suffixe "GM", de ceux gérés par d'autres companies, ces dernier se terminant par "NO".

 Lawful label and steered by Joey and Sylvia ROBINSON under the cup of the group " All Platinum ", and launched in 1968 at the same time as All Platinum records. Last remark common to all the labels of the group " All Platinum "; concerning the management of copyright, it is easy to distinguish those being a part of the catlatogue of the group, because they end by the suffix " GM ", of those managed by other companies, these last one ending by "NO.".

Label fondé par DELMAR DONNELL en 1981 à New York, suite à la fermeture de DELMAR INTERNATIONAL RECORDS. A savoir également que Delmar DONNELL est un des compositieurs avec Patrick ADAMS du tube de CLOUD ONE "Spaced Out", et qu'il enregistra en 1964 un single sur NEW SOUND records ("So Long Baby"). En 2003, Delmar a aussi enregistré un CD sur STREET JAM records "I Feel Your Pain" pour le victimes du cyclone "Katrina".

DISCO, early  HIP-HOP record label managed by DELMAR DONNELL after the closing of previous label DELMAR INTERNATIONAL RECORDS. Also know that Delmar DONNELL is one of the writers of the CLOUD ONE hit "Spaced Out" with Patrick ADAMS, and that he'll also recorded a single in 1964 on NEW SOUND records ("So Long Baby"). In 2003, Delmar also recorded a CD on STREET JAM RECORDS for the victim of "Katrina".

STUDIO records est un label, qui, bien que non basé à WASHINGTON D.C, n'en n'est pas très éloigné; 10 kms (MARYLAND). C'est pourquoi nous l'avons intégré à notre liste de labels GO-GO. De plus musicalement parlant il comporte en son catalogue, plusieurs références de pure GO-GO. Bien qu'ayant peu de renseignements, nous supposons au vue de la liste des maxis-45t, que c'est Michael NEAL et Steven FRANCO qui dirigaient ce label. Leurs noms apparâissent en effet sur la quasi totalité des disques. A savoir également, que STUDIO records constitue ce que l'on peu appeller un "cross-over label", puisqu'il n'est pas cantonné à un seul style musical. On va y trouver aussi bien de la GO-GO que de la HOUSE, du RAP, mais le tout à sauce WASHINGTON. Donc selon tel ou tel producteur ou artiste, c'est tel ou tel style muscial qui prédomine. Sur sur le plan purement GO-GO, à noter que figure un des seuls titres féminin de GO-GO, que l'on y retrouve le "T.F CREW" (TROUBLE FUNK) après leur libération de leur contrat d'avec ISLAND, et que l'on y voit aussi un des grands noms de la scène house/garage des années 1990/2000, D.J SPEN y faire ses armes. Enfin, STUDIO records avait pour habitude de nommer ses version vocales, "regular version", appelation que l'on ne retrouve nulle par ailleurs sur d'autres labels.  STUDIO records is a label, which, although not based in WASHINGTON D.C, is not very far from it; 4 miles((MARYLAND). That is why we integrated it into our list of GOGO labels. Of speaking more musically it contains in its catalog, several references of pure GOGO. Although having not enough information, we suppose in sight of the list of the 12" singles, that it is Michael NEAL and Steven FRANCO who steered this label. Their names indeed apperead on almost totality of discs. Also, to know, is, that STUDIO records constitutes that one few called a " cross-over label ", because it is not quartered in a single musical style. We are going to find as well oGOGO, HOUSE, RAP, but the whole with a WASHINGTON stylee. Thus according to such or such producer or artist, it is such or such musical style which prevails. On purely GOGO style, to note that we can find here one of the unique female GO GO artist, that we find the "T.F CREW" (TROUBLE FUNK) after their liberation of their contract from ISLAND , and that we see also one of the big names of the scene house / garage of the years 1990/2000 there, D.J SPEN to make here, its weapons. Finally, STUDIO records had for custom to name its voclas versions , " regular version ", an appelation which we find nobody besides on the other labels.
