This label was lauched in 1967 by Stan WATSON and Sam BELL. Located in Philadelphia, Pa., the A&R direction was assumed by Thom BELL, the same Thom BELL that also held the BELL records. PHILLY GROOVE only included two main artists : THE DELFONICS & FIRST CHOICE. However, 7" singles saw the release on this labels of titles by THE CRUSADERS or BROADWAY EXPRESS.

In 2003, a special 12" Singles under the banner of the original PHILLY GROOVE records had been released. Manufactured and distributed by house-garage SOULFURIC label. So Does this underground label brought the back catalogue ???.
